CCTV - the first of the 'next steps'
If we can't clear a drain by manual rodding or by using high pressure water jetting, we need to understand what's causing the blockage.
Today's technology allows us to send a small mobile camera down even the smallest of drains and receive the pictures immediately, in real-time, through a monitor.
All the footage captured is recorded onto a hard drive and we will provide a video and a report to you as part of our service.
Problems and issues that a CCTV survey can detect include:
- Broken drains
- Fractured pipework
- Misaligned joints
- Tree root infestation
- Cooking fat build up
- Incorrect fall gradients
The images received from the camera allows us to see the cause of the problem and to determine the next course of action.
The next course of action?
Experience tells us - and as the CCTV camera survey will confirm - that the drain is likely to have misaligned joints, will have cracked, shifted or collapsed. In some cases, these imperfections open up gaps in the drain which allow thirsty tree roots in. Over time, these will completely block the drain and will need removing.
As a full-service drainage contractor, whatever the issue may be, we'd be glad to provide you with a free, no obligation quotation to rectify the problem.
CCTV surveys aren't just for blocked drains!
Increasingly, we're asked to do CCTV surveys in Leeds as part of a Home Buyers Report. Certainly for properties where there are lots of trees or where there has been subsidence of any kind.
This survey offers up peace of mind for any potential home buyer as our detailed report provides a drainage 'health check' and will also highlight any problems which may occur at a later date.
